A special treat like these adorable, but simple, Nutter Butter Turkey Cupcakes.

Nutter Butter Turkey Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • Cupcakes cooked according to package directions
  • Homemade or store-bought chocolate frosting
  • Candy Corn 7 for each cupcake
  • Nutter Butter Cookies 1 for each cupcake
  • Chocolate jimmies/sprinkles approx. 1 cup for 12 cupcakes
  • Red peel apart candy (like Twizzlers Peel Candy), separated 1 unpeeled strand for each cupcake
  • Whole almonds 1 for each cupcake
  • White chocolate or vanilla-flavored almond bark, melted 1/4 cup for 12 cupcakes
  • Small candy eyeballs 2 for each cupcake

Instructions

  1. Using a sharp knife, slice off the rounded end of each almond to create a flat surface. Set aside.
  2. Start with the turkey heads. Prepare a plate or baking sheet with waxed paper. Using a toothpick, place a small dot on one side of each Nutter Butter cookie and immediately press a candy eyeball into the chocolate. Lightly dip the cut end of each almond into the melted chocolate and press the almond against the side of the Nutter Butter cookie as the beak. Put the cookies on the baking sheet and allow the eyes and almonds to set completely at room temperature or place in the refrigerator for faster results.
  3. Once set, flip the cookies and repeat the steps to place an eyeball on the opposite side.
  4. Using the toothpick, run a small amount of the melted chocolate down the side of the cookie from beneath the almond. While the chocolate is wet, press a small piece of the peel apart candy as the turkey waddle.

  5. Let cookies set completely before continuing to decorate the cupcakes.
  6. Ice each cupcake with frosting. Turn the cupcake upside down and gently press into a bowl of chocolate jimmies. Using a knife, make a small slit in the cupcake and push the Nutter Butter cookie into place. Arrange the candy corn around the back of the cupcake to represent the tail feathers.
  7. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
