Very useful information. Thank you for sharing. I started scar massage very slowly, because it was painful at first. I started from the 3rd week onwards. I am almost 4 weeks post op now. I notice I have a feeling of pulling when I swallow. Did you feel that as well? I worry about adhesions. Thank you again. I hope all goes all with tou. Many blessings. Catia F. from Portugal.

I only had that for a few weeks – I would ask your dr to be sure!

  2. Came across this amazing information! Would you recommend the vitamin e and then place the scar away strips ontop of that? Just had a partial removal of my thyroid so definitely researching the best ideas. Thanks!

I used the scar away strips when I was out and about during the day, and then at night my husband would rub vitamin e oil on it and put the strips on top of it. If you only use a tad bit of oil, then the scar away strips will still stay put.

  3. Hi, I have a thyroid surgery coming up and very much appreciate the advice and photos showing what to expect – thank you! Logistical question – you say you used the scaraway strips every day for the first three weeks after surgery. Do you mean that you started using them right after surgery or did you wait until the steristrips came off (or some other milestone)? I see that you started vitamin E two weeks after, so just curious when exactly you started the scaraway. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us!
