Music is a foundation in life. We look to it in so many different times in our lives and we use it to explain so many different feelings. Music has always been a part of my life and I have often used it as a mental health coping skill to harness my stress, my anxiety, my anger and my depression. Now, don’t get me wrong, music is part of the happy times in my life as well and part of some of my greatest memories. However, it seems in times of distress, is when I turn to music the most. I thought I would share a few of my favorites and create my Stressed Out Mom playlist!
twenty one pilots: Stressed Out
Imagine Dragons: Radioactive
Meredith Brooks: Bitch
30 Seconds to Mars: The Kill
Limp Bizkit: Break Stuff
Korn: Coming Undone
Metallica: Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
P!nk: Just Like A Pill
Evanescence: Bring Me To Life
Linkin Park: Papercut
There are just some songs, you know. The songs that you turn up so loud, that you can barely hear yourself screaming the lyrics and for some reason, they just make you feel better. Music is a filter. It helps me filter out those negative feelings that have built up inside. Once I scream it out, I am free, for a moment. This is my stressed out mom playlist.
