I promised myself that this summer, I was going to be open to adventures with my family! Adventures full of fun, exploration and family bonding time. I am going to share our adventures with you and hopefully, they will inspire you to be open to more adventures with your family!
State parks are a great place for camping and hiking. They usually have amazing hiking trails filled with gorgeous, local plants and animals and more often than not, they offer affordable campsites! Not a tent person? No worries, a lot of state parks now offer cabins, yurts and even tepees that you can rent!
We arrived and were greeted by the local DNR park rangers. They showed us our campsite on a map, showed us the popular hiking trails, sold us some DNR approved firewood and we were off to set up our campsite!Once our campsite was set up, we decided to take a hike. We ended up hiking almost 3 miles of trails and we saw some amazing things.
I thought this tree was spectacular.
When we got back to the campsite, we had dinner and played a couple of camping friendly games!
So, if you are looking for a fun, family summer adventure, consider camping and hiking at State Parks! Finding a State Park is as easy as hoping on the computer and Googling “State Parks“.
