Summer is coming to a close, but we are still having some amazing summer adventures! We are taking advantage of what our local area has to offer us and man, have we been having a great time! This adventure took us to the Minnesota Children’s Museum and we got to have lunch at a famous, local diner! You may have heard of it or even seen it in some movies! Come check it out!
We decided to visit a few exhibits at the Minnesota Children’s Museum one day before lunch. The first place we got to explore was Arthur’s World!
Check out Mr. Ratburn’s classroom!
It was such an awesome experience. I love that the Minnesota Children’s Museum is all about learning through play! In my mind, there is no better way to spark a child’s interest than by playing with them.
By the time we were finished playing, the kids were pretty hungry. Luckily, there is a local landmark right across the street! A diner that is pretty famous locally, maybe even world-famous!
Mickey’s Dining Car has been operating 24/7/365 for almost 70 years and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
It has also appeared in movies like Mighty Ducks, Jingle All The Way and A Prairie Home Companion! It was also in the music video for The Pet Shop Boys, “Where The Streets Have No Names (I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You)” in 1991!
How cool is that?!
