I love Halloween and I am all about minimal effort! Themed snacks and treats are all the rage, but I have when they are super complicated or overly artsy, don't you? Quick and easy is the name of the game with these Nutter Butter Frankenstein Halloween Treats!

You don’t need very much time or very many things to put these little Frankenstein Halloween treats together, but I am sure they will deliver smiles to any little demons children that they get shared with!

Here is what you need:

Nutter Butter Cookies
Green candy coating
Small candy eyeballs
Chocolate Morsels
Black sprinkles, jimmies, or sugar
Black decorating icing

If you cannot find candy eyeballs, mini chocolate chip morsels make a great substitute.

Here is how you make them:

Dipping and coating these cute little Halloween treats.

Melt the candy coating according to package directions giving special care not to overheat the candy. If the candy coating is overheated, it will be too thick. You can add 2 teaspoons of vegetable shortening to help thin the candy but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.

Resting the cookie on a fork, spoon candy coating over the cookie and then tap the fork against the side of your bowl to remove excess candy coating.

Turning these Halloween treats into Frankenstein!

Spoon sprinkles over one side of the cookie and place one chocolate morsel on each side. Add the candy eyeballs while the candy is still wet. Place on waxed paper to dry.

Allow candy coating to harden. Using a toothpick or small, clean paintbrush, draw a mouth on the cookie with the black decorating icing.

Adding the finishing touches to your Frankenstein Halloween Treats!

You can store these in an airtight container, at room temperature. I wouldn’t put them in the fridge, because it will cause the cookie to soften and become gummy.
