If you haven’t watched the first season of Stranger Things on Netflix yet, I am going to insist that you go and watch it. Now. Seriously. It is so good! It’s creepy and mysterious with a hint of insanity, kind of like me!
Eleven is one of the main characters in the show and in some weird, off the wall ways, I kind of understand her. There are certain aspects of experiences we have had that are similar, but not always in the ways you would think.
Here are some of the reasons, that I think, are reasons why I can relate to Eleven from Stranger Things.
By the time I was 11, I had already been through more than most people will go through in a lifetime and so has Eleven. We have seen and experienced some of the scariest things possible and yeah, it makes us a little weird.
Eleven and I were both children that were betrayed by a person or institution that was supposed to help us. We have major trust issues, but seriously, can you blame us?
While I am extremely grateful that most people, and especially my children, will never have to go through what I did, I have to wonder if people will ever understand me. If they will understand why I can’t trust, why some things affect me so much more than they affect other people, why I think so little of myself and why I am the way I am.
We both have a fondness for delicious Eggo Waffles. I even made a tiramisu out of them! Leggo our Eggos, seriously!
We both like to feel pretty, but usually come off as completely awkward and weird when we dress up.
We only have a select few and they are the only people that we truly trust, care about and put ourselves on the line for. True friendship.
So, in a weird way, you can see why I think I can relate to Eleven from Stranger Things. She resembles pieces of my past experiences and I can relate to the way she feels about things! Thanks to Kristi, from FindingNinee, for this Finish The Sentence prompt!
