When you live in a place like Minnesota, outdoor activities and markets need to be cherished and enjoyed as much as you can possibly enjoy them. Why? Because before you know it, we will be waist deep in snow again and all of us will be shut up in our houses! That is why I have been doing the Summer Adventure Series with my kids! We are making the most out of this summer by doing as much as we can! This adventure took us to our local, outdoor Farmer’s Market!
We love going to our local Farmer’s Market while it is open and yes, I am extremely jealous of the states that have them year round! Visiting a Farmer’s Market is a great way to support local businesses and farmers. It is also a great way to teach your kids where their food comes from, how we get it and how to eat healthier!
Our Farmer’s Market is held at City Hall and the first thing my kids always HAVE to do is climb on the giant sundial!
I always leave with a bag full of goodies that usually includes a couple fresh veggies, some fresh picked fruit, homemade pickles and handmade cheese of some kind. This visit, we can home with fresh cheese curds and fresh mozzarella! YUMMY!
If you are anything like me, as soon as you get home, you make a snack plate of your fresh goodies and that is what your family eats for lunch! You know what I’m talking about if you follow me on Instagram!
