Winter is upon us, well most of us. (I’ve still got my eye on you, Florida!)
It is time for snow play and reindeer games! We have already gone sledding a few times and it made me realize that sledding, is kind of like parenting!
1. It’s an obligation.
If you live in a place where it snows, then sledding you must go. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it.
2. It’s a lot of work, but it can be fun!
Trucking up the hill with a few sleds in tow about 100 times is a lot of work, but the 10 second ride to the bottom is totally worth it!
3. Everything can change in a split second!
Having a blast, heading down the hill, all of a sudden you spin out of control, almost hit a tree and end up with a face full of snow!
4. You want to go alone.
You really want to go by yourself, at least once, but that ain’t happening!
5. After it’s over, you realize…
Sledding: The act of climbing up an insanely large hill, multiple times, to enjoy a 10 second ride to the bottom.
Parenting: The act of wrangling insanely wild children, multiple times, to enjoy 10 seconds of love and cuddles.
