Now that November has come to an end, it marks the beginning of a new holiday season. During the month of December, many of us will be preparing for all types of celebrations and festivities to celebrate the holidays with our friends and loved ones!
What some people may not know is that December is also Safe Toys and Gifts Month. While many of us are putting together to-do lists in preparation for the upcoming festivities, our kids are building some lists of their own. These hand-written wish lists decorated with glitter tend to include the hot, must-have toys of the season—so “hot” that they will more than likely be burning a hole in our wallets. Sometimes it’s not the price, but the intent of the toy that has us as parents hesitant to place it in our shopping carts.
To help, ConsumerSafety.org has created a Holiday Toy Safety graphic to offer some easy-to-follow tips on protecting your wallets as well as your kids! Bargains are great, as long as they don’t wind up in a trip to the ER.
Hopefully these tips will ensure that both your budgets and kids are smiling!
