Math, either you love it or you hate it. My son loves math, but sometimes it can get a little monotonous for him. That is why I am constantly on the lookout for curriculum enhancing programs like this one!
Prodigy Math Game is a free, curriculum-aligned game that takes learning math to a whole new level! In Prodigy, you get to create your own wizard who will help you unlock magic through math.
My son has been enjoying Prodigy for a while now and it really adds an extra element of fun to his math lessons! He loves battling and completing quests to increase his level and I like that the math level increases right along with him.
“Prodigy is a game with math. You might think it’s just another math website, but no this is the best math game ever! It has fun, adventure, battle, spells, magic and more! So please ask your parents to get you a membership, thank you. Just go to www.prodigy/buy then go to www.prodigy/play, it’s that easy. The end”
I thought it was the perfect pitch for the game! I think I may have a natural-born salesman on my hands!
Prodigy is completely aligned to the Ontario curriculum and covers more than 400 skills ranging from number sense to patterning and algebra and many more crucial skills . Prodigy ensures that children are moving through the curriculum at their own pace using an adaptive technology. When your child is struggling with a certain skills, Prodigy will pull them back to a prerequisite skills to ensure they understand. If your child is excelling, the questions will become increasingly more difficult.
The other great thing about Prodigy is that it has a number of tools for parents, including real-time reports and assessments. This way I can see everything my child has been working on and where they are struggling!
Prodigy can be played for free for as long as you like and you never have to worry about upgrading. You can learn over 400 free math skills for Grades 1 to 8 and never pay a penny. Why? Prodigy believes that all children should love learning math, not just those who can afford it.
Even though Prodigy is free for everyone, there is a membership option. The membership option allows your child access to more items in the game. Different pets, more spells, better armor, etc and it really can help their interest grow. The memberships start as low as $4.99 per month.
As a homeschooling mom, I give it two thumbs up and as you can tell from his story, my son approves too!
Swing on by the site, sign up and check it out! What have you got to lose?
