Every superhero has a nemesis and so does every mom! (Let’s face it, moms are superheroes anyway!) Jen and Celeste asked us to show off our #MommyReality Nemesis and a lot of you have already answered the call. Well, now it is my turn and after some deep, mommy soul searching I realized that I am my own NEMESIS!
That’s right.
When it comes right down to it, I am my own worst enemy! No one can defeat me the way that I can defeat myself.
Multiple Personalities…
Two Faced…
Alter Ego…
Call it what you will, but there are definitely at least two sides to this Mad Mommy!
My superhero side. We’ll call her, “Opti-Mommy“. She has a great attitude! Generally optimistic, fun, out going and loves to enjoy life.
My Nemesis side. We’ll call her, “Sarcasta-Mom“. She has a shitty attitude. Generally pessimistic, sarcastic, self-loathing and is full of discontent.
The internal battle between the two rages on.
Two sides to the same coin.
Two sides of myself.
A super hero and a villain. All in one.
My own nemesis is inside me.
Who or what is your nemesis?
Come share it with us here!

I love your nemesis as she is pretty much the same as mine with sarcasm totally being front and center here, too!!
It’s amazing how we can be our own worst enemy!
Lol! Yup, I am battling with the same enemy.
I think a lot of us are.
Oh my goodness yes and yes! Aren’t we all our own worst enemies? Hmmm. I don’t know what my super powers would be. The ability to smell a poopy diaper from a room away? Not sure that is something to be admired though 🙂
That’s an admirable power, LOL! We all tend to beat ourselves up!
Something tells me I’d like to party with both personalities… 😉 I think many of us are hardest on ourselves. I would agree it’s the same for me. Nice as can be, would give the shirt off my back but piss me off and it’s over AND I turn into a really unpleasant person even I can’t stand.
I think you and I would definitely get along and see eye to eye on a lot of things! I am sweet as pie, caring and compassionate, but cross me and out will come the dragon!
Yes, I’m pretty sarcastic most of the time. I do try to tone it down around other people who don’t get it though. They tend to get baffled.
Haha, I have gotten some looks before!
I feel like that was such an amazing soul searching conclusion! After you mention it, I know I am also my own worst enemy. No one can put themselves down better than themselves! You have a great outlook and I think Opti-Mom out shines Sarcasta-Mom for sure.
Awww, I like when Opti-Mom wins out for sure! It;s amazing how strong and weak we can make ourselves.
Hi Echo, ah, but it could be your nemesis that keep your children in check. Can you imagine if you were always on a constant? Now that wouldn’t work to your advantage. At least being a double sided coin must keep your children on their toes!
Oh, my two sides can definitely work together when they need to.
Ooh, rad post, Echo! I feel like I’m my own nemesis so many times. I get in my own way when it comes to getting stuff done because the other half of me starts in with anxiety and worry. When that happens, the other side of me gets so annoyed!
I think it happens to the best of us, Celeste.
Two Face! Love him!
I’m totally two-faced. I’m mostly pretty happy and upbeat, unless I’m hungry, sleepy and the weather sucks.
So you know – all winter long and some of spring to.
I have a feeling that our two sides are very similar.
haha, I feel the same way most days!! Thanks for sharing, and linking up with us at the Best of the Blogosphere! Always great to see your posts! <3
Thanks for coming by, Amber!
I think we all have two sides.. the good version and the bad one.. ha! Also I love your new header and logo!!
Thanks Lauren! I love it too! I also agree that there are two sides to all of us.
This made me chuckle…I am always fighting an uphill battle against myself!
Thank you for sharing with us at #MommyMeetupMondays!
Always, LOL. Thanks for coming by.
So true, Echo. My alter ego is Bad Mommy and you better watch out when she comes to town. Usually during certain times of the month. Thanks for sharing on the Small Victories Sunday link up.
Ohhh, I’d be scared of Bad Mommy!
Are you talking about me Echo? I think we all experience two sides but that makes us interesting! Thanks for sharing and being part of #AnythingGoes LinkUp party
It’s common in a lot of us, I am finding out!
Oh Yes, this is all so true. Some moments I feel like a zen warrior that exudes calmness in the height of tantrums. The next moment I have NO patience. Amazing how we can be our own arch nemesis…
We are our own worst enemies!
I totally know how this goes! I am also my worst enemy. I have high anxiety and even though I know I need to take a step back, I never do. I am always so afraid I am going to fail that I push myself over the top and end up failing anyway. We can’t be too hard on ourselves though, we’re human and we all have flaws. I think we are lucky to be aware of what those flaws are. – Jules (co-host at #MommyMeetUpMondays)
