I trick-or-treated WELL into my teen years.
I know, I know, some people may look down on that, but hey, I was always, ALWAYS in full costume. For me, I don’t mind if trick-or-treaters are older, as long as they put some effort into it. If you come to my house, in full costume, you get treated no matter how old you are, but if you come, expecting candy, without dressing up, you can keep walking!
This year, our neighbor’s teen boys decided that they were too old to trick-or-treat, but I wanted to do something to keep that Halloween spirit alive. When I heard about #BOOItForward, I knew what I had to do!
I hopped in my car, armed with a coupon and headed to Walmart to get my supplies! I found everything I needed. Little #MiniMonster cans of A&W Root Beer, 7UP® and Sunkist®, plus tons of Mars Minis and Wrigley’s Monster Stash (which is 315 pieces of candy!!!).
When I got home, I printed out a You’ve Been BOO’d card, which has all of the #BOOItForward instructions on it. Cut out this “We’ve been BOO’d sign. Fold the “You’ve been BOO’d” greeting card (page 2) and tape openings together. Include the card and sign when gifting BOO bundles. After that, I laid out my supplies and started to make my BOO Kits!
Assembling these BOO Kits is as easy as 1, 2, 3! I lined the pumpkins with tissue paper and then, I filled them with tons of goodies. For an added, spooky effect, I covered them in some cobwebs and added some creepy, crawly spiders!
I would have loved to find something like this when I was younger! I hope it helped them keep some of that Halloween spirit and fun!
Putting together these BOO Kits really got me into the Halloween mood, so I decided that I need to make a special treat for my own family. I grabbed a couple cans of the A&W Root Beer and thought that a spooky ice cream float would be just the ticket!
I used the A&W Root Beer, 2 scoops of black cherry ice cream, a splash of maraschino cherry juice and of course, a cherry on top!
