Facebook is a blogger’s best frenemy! As a blogger, you need Facebook. Facebook is an incredible way to drive traffic to your site and to engage with your fans. However, Facebook can be a fickle beast and taming the wild Facebook algorithms is a long and unending adventure.
When you start blogging, you should create a Facebook Fan Page as a way to interact with your fans there. Once you have created the fan page, you will have to seek out these fans and try to engage them. Having fans engage with your Facebook page is incredibly important because it will actually dictate how many people will see your posts!
I am no expert, but I have been building my own Facebook Fan Page and am now getting more likes daily and increased Facebook engagement across the board. So, I am going to share with you, my 3 easy ways to boost your Facebook engagement.
#1: Schedule, schedule, schedule.
Facebook likes consistency. The algorithm likes it when you post at the same time every day. There are a lot of apps that can do this for you, however, Facebook likes Facebook. For this reason, I schedule all of my Facebook posts through Facebook itself.
Here is an example of my scheduled posts:
8:15 (New day post)
10:15 – share content
11:15 – my content
1:15 – share content
3:15 – share viral content
5:15 – my content
7:15 – share content or my content
8:15 (I ask a question to boost engagement)
You can also spontaneously post in-between your scheduled posts! In fact, I do it quite a bit. Just make sure that your main schedule stays consistent.
If you are a blogger, chances are you already have other bloggers’ content in your newsfeed, this is a great way to find share-able content. Another way that I find share-able content is through my BlogLovin’ feed.
#2: Join a great blogger group on Facebook!
One of the best resource that you can find for building your Facebook engagement or your blog is other bloggers. Having a great blogging network behind you makes you that much stronger, so join a group or two. Engage in their threads. Always be kind and always reciprocate!
I am part of an amazing group called Awesome Bloggers. It is a closed group, so you must be approved, but it is worth it. The admins are the best and the engagement rocks!
#3: Seek out social media linkups and Facebook share days!
These are opportunities to get your fan page out and about for others to see. Linkups and share days are usually offered by other bloggers as a form of networking. The best way to find active linkups and share days is through other bloggers.
Bonus: Get yourself a tribe or a blogging buddy group.
This is usually a group of 5 – 10 bloggers, sometimes more, that all work together to promote each other’s blogs, help each other learn and support each other as you grow. It is imperative that you find like-minded bloggers for your tribe/group.
I have an amazing tribe and I wouldn’t be nearly as far as I am today without the support and friendship that I get from those ladies.
Well, there you have it. 3 easy ways to boost your Facebook engagement. I’m not promising that your numbers will sky-rocket or blow through the roof, but if you use these tips, I guarantee that you WILL have increased Facebook engagement.
