“Smooth as a baby’s bottom!”
I am sure that you have heard that at some point in your life. Yes, baby skin is definitely soft and very sweet-smelling, but it is also very sensitive. That means, we have to do whatever we can to take care of our baby’s skin. Especially, in those hard, dry winter months! Here are some tips that I use for sensitive baby skin care in the winter.
Yes, hydration for the skin. It is very important to choose the right lotion to help moisturize and hydrate your baby’s sensitive skin during the winter. When it comes to lotion, I have found that natural baby products are the way to go.
Stay on top of the problem. Make sure that you are applying lotion after every bath and whenever you notice dry skin.
Avoid overly fragranced or manufactured skin care products. When it comes to sensitive baby skin care, the more organic baby products are usually the best. The less chemicals and the more natural ingredients, the better.
Keep A Watchful Eye:
Keep an eye on your baby’s skin. Note any changes, moles, blotches or odd dry patches. It could just be dry skin, but could also be a symptom of something more serious. I know that with my daughter’s eczema, organic baby skin care products are the safest and cause the least amount of flare ups.
Talk To Your Baby’s Doctor:
Always report any concerns or worries to your baby’s pediatrician. They can always give you reassurance, answers and offer expert advice and/or suggestions.
Taking care of your baby’s sensitive skin is important all year round. Protection from the sun in the summer and hydration during the dry, dry winter. A baby with healthy, well taken care of skin is a happier baby!
