The weekend is on the horizon and I couldn’t be more excited! Even a busy weekend is more relaxing since my husband is home to help with all of the shenanigans. Yes, even on the weekend there are plenty of shenanigans in the Domain of the Mad Mommy! Another thing that I look forward to is Ask Away Friday! So…

This week I am swapping with the delightful and talented Bev of Linkouture! Bev is a work at home mom that creates gorgeous jewelry while managing to parent and blog! My hat is off to her! She is a multitasking mama extraordinaire!
On with the questions!
Bev asked and I answered!
1. What inspired you to start homeschooling your children? What do you like most about it? What do you find most challenging?
Homeschooling came out of necessity for me and it was something I was totally unprepared for. Public school just did not work for my son, so we explored other options and have found that homeschooling suits him the best. I never thought I would homeschool, but now, I am pretty glad that I do.
What do I like the most? Watching my son learn, thrive and get excited about new knowledge and skills.
What is the most challenging? There is definitely a lack of personal time.
2. Along the homeschooling front, I have “met” a lot of bloggers who are also homeschoolers. Do you have a network of homeschooling bloggers? How, if at all, has the blogging community helped or enhanced your homeschooling?
There are a lot of wonderful bloggers that homeschool, including my bloggin’ twinsie! I follow a lot of homeschool blogs, but my main blogging network is made up of all kinds of moms. I like that better because no matter what we go, we are all moms at the end of the day!
My biggest piece is my lower, quarter sleeve, which I fondly refer to as my “Nerd Arm”. The story behind it is a mesh of a few of my favorite things. You have two characters from two of my favorite movies. The worm from Labyrinth and Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The pixelated hatchetman is an ode to my past. My love for old school video games and my years as a Juggalo. The red and black pixelated horde symbol is for my love of World Of Warcraft, I no longer play, but it is still a part of me. FOR THE HORDE! The D20 or 20 sided dice shows my love for table top/roleplaying games like Magic The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. The crowing glory of my “Nerd Arm” is the Tri-Force. I have been in love with all things Legend of Zelda longer than I can remember. Believe it or not, The Legend of Zelda games gave birth to my gamer nature! Phew…. Did ya get all that?
Insanity and a lot of coffee!
Well, that and perseverance, I guess. I have one of those, “I gotta do what I gotta do to get shit done!” type of attitudes.
You can do this to me. This would be the hardest decision of my life. However, I think tacos would win, but what about Taco Pizza?!
Best Amazon package I have ever opened. I was out of coffee for over 36 hours before this bad boy arrived!
I have been thinking Florida because I “know” so many people there and I want to live closer to the ocean. However, I want to homestead too! So, I have also been thinking about going west or to the PNW.
First off, find something for you. Anything that you can use as a creative outlet or hobby. Whether it’s blogging, making jewelry, reading, coloring, painting, baking, whatever it is, make sure it’s something that you enjoy! After you have that, you can incorporate that into fostering creativity in your kids! My son loves to cook, he also loves video games and movies. My daughter loves to paint, roleplay with costumes and creates stories with her toys. I’d like to think that those ideas came from things that I love and showed them.
I have been traumatized, for life, by geese.
When I was 16, I hit 3 goslings with my car on my way home, 2 hours later my mom found me, sitting on the curb, crying. I couldn’t drive for 3 weeks. Also, when I was 3, we were feeding geese bread at a local pond and apparently, a big white gander decided that I was a threat, so he wrapped his wings around me and pecked me in the head! I don’t know if you know this, but geese are CRAZY!
