This week, I am swapping with Jenessa from Mothering In Real Life! Jenessa and I have swapped before, but we decided to team up for an Irish/St. Patrick themed swap! Jenessa’s blog is awesome. She blogs about the reality of motherhood and her honesty is always refreshing!
Here we go!
Jenessa asked the questions
I answered them!
Do you have any special plans for St. Patrick’s Day?
The kids always check their leprechaun traps and we usually have an Irish meal. It’s often corned beef and cabbage or beef stew with soda bread.
Can you share any stories from past St. Patrick’s Days?
I don’t really have any wild and crazy St. Patty’s stories.
If you won an all-expenses-paid trip to Ireland, where exactly would you go and what would you do while you were there?
Hell yes I would go! I would love to visit Cork, which is where my ancestors hail from.St. Coleman’s Cathedral, in Cork, Ireland
I’ll get there some day.
Have you ever found a four-leaf clover? Did you feel lucky?
I have not found a four leaf clover, but it’s not for lack of searching! I used to look all the time when I was a kid.
Do you have a good luck charm? If so, what? (And do you have a picture?)
I don’t have a lucky charm, but I do have a couple of “ritual” things that I do. Like I will always “knock on wood”, literally and my day just feels off if I do not get to kiss my husband good bye.
Do you have a favorite Irish singer or band?
Enya and The Cranberries are the first ones that come to mind for me.
Name 3 hot Irish actors. (And pictures would be nice. 😉 )
Colin O’Donoghue aka Hook on Once Upon a Time.
Chris O’Dowd from Bridesmaids.
Stuart Townsend from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Use your imagination and come up with a fool-proof plan to catch a leprechaun.
We try every year, but they are sneaky little things. What you really need is something to attract them, such as shamrocks, green things, gold things or anything glittery/sparkly and then, you need a hole for them to fall into or a door to close behind them!
Do you have a favorite Irish meal, dessert or drink?
I love corned beef and cabbage, but it has to be served with either Colcannon (mashed potatoes with kale or cabbage) or Champ (mashed potatoes with scallions, butter and milk).
Write a funny limerick. (Bonus points if it rhymes.)
There once was a blogger named Echo
and some may consider her whacko.
She tries to be funny
and often times punny,
but she’s really just a kook with a keyboard.
Thank you so much for swapping with me, Jenessa! It was tons of fun! Please, stop by Jenessa’s blog and see how she answered my questions for her!
